Samoa Cookie Shakeology

Ahh the delciousness of caramel and coconut in ONE COOKIE!!
This must be a gift from heaven!!
In fact, it is a gift from those cute girls in green that come around once a year and sell us
Samoa Girl Scout Cookies!!


There are apparently 2 bakers that make Girl Scout Cookies and depending which baker it is dictates the name so these cookies are also sometimes called Caramel deLites - huh who knew!! All I knew is they are delicious and I can eat a whole box by myself!!

Well as you know I am on a mission to find Shakeology recipes that mimic these delicious cookies all week long!! My reason for doing this is these cookies although delicious are not a healthy snack. Let's be honest while we are at it, can you really eat the recommended serving on the box? 2 samoa cookies? 

So instead of the cookie let's try finding a Shakeology recipe that mimics the cookie!! Shakeology is made of 70+ natural ingredients which make it a superfood super dense nutrition shake!! 
If you can have the delciousness and nutrition - WHY NOT go for Shakeology instead of the cookie!!


Today it is Samoa's but later this week we will also visit Caramel deLites!! Will there be a difference in taste?? We shall see!! 

 I am also on a mission to find a way to make these recipes that will fall in line with the 21 Day Fix program's nutrition plan. A lot of these shakeology recipes I found included milk, almond milk, etc. but for those of us who know the 21 Day fix nutrition plan, you also know milk is considered a Replacement container food and quite frankly I don't want to use mine up for MILK!! Feel free to do so if you like though!!

and the moment you have been waiting for...how do you make Samoa Cookie Shakeology?



Ingredients and Directions...
*8-10 ounces water
*1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology
*1/2-1 teaspoon caramel extract
*1 teaspoon unsweetened coconut (or 1/2-1 teaspoon coconut extract)
*4-5 ice cubes
*Blend and Serve with a sprinkle of unsweetened coconut on top!
**(The coconut on top is a must!! It totally changes the flavor of the shake!!)**

10 Day Shakeology Challenge

P90x3 Week 13 - Victory Week

P90x3, P90x3 results, P90x3 review, P90x3 women's results, why P90x3, meal planning, healthy living, challenge yourself, clean eating, shakeologyWeek 13...it is finally here!!


I am remembering the beginning of this journey like it was yesterday!! I was so scared to do P90x3 with Tony Horton but I also knew I would regret it if I didn't at least give it a try. 
Well let me tell you I am so very thankful I gave it a go because I loved this program. Whether I was sweating my rear off in CVX or using my tape in Agility X the program always kept my mind and body guessing. For someone who gets bored very easily this was a perfect program. 


What I loved about  my P90x3 Journey...
1. I loved that when I started the program I started it with one of my health and fitness challenge groups. We all got to experience the x3 programs together. Whether we were trying to figure out how on earth you hold crane without "eating carpet" or attempting crane cracker push-ups - we were there for one another in the good and the learning moments

2. As mentioned I get bored VERY easily and with a 90 day program as is P90x3 I was a little worried about boredom setting in especially during those last 30 days (between days 60-90 in the program). During this time is typically when I do get bored and my motivation starts to go downhill. I feel because of the variety and intensity of the workouts in x3 that is why I DIDN'T get bored. You have pure cardio, strength training, pilates, yoga, mixed martial arts, and best of all there is a modifier so if you start off not being able to do the workouts.















3. My balance has improved greatly!! I am very impressed with this because a long time ago I had very impressive balance but as I got older I lost it. P90x3 helped me get that back!! 

4. I am sure you heard Abs are made in the kitchen and I believe this as well but I do feel the P90x3 workouts have helped define my abs more and for that I am thankful. This year was the first time since 2009 that I wore a 2 piece bathing suit. I finally had my confidence back and felt comfortable in my own skin (doesn't hurt that I have some nice abs to show too!) BUT you won't see a picture of my abs because that is just for me. If you want to see them then run into me at the pool or beach!!

I could seriously go on and on about all the many great things I loved about my experience with P90x3. But I don't want to ramble on and on so these are my top loves above!!


In addition to working out of course it is important to me to stick to my meal planning routine each week. I did this meal plan on Sunday as I normally do and thankfully this week I did not have to do any type of grocery shopping!! Just another example of how meal planning has saved me money - I use what I have and minimize waste!! 



Some people ask me how I do this with fresh fruit and veggies and NOT all fruit and veggies will last over a week. I use these green baggies and containers that are suppose to prolong the life of fruit and veggies and I have to say it REALLY DOES!! I did an experiment with broccoli where I kept some in the fridge like normal vs. some in these green containers and voila the broccoli in the green containers lasted longer!!


Well there you have it, come Saturday I can officially say I am a P90x3 Graduate!!

Strawberry Chia Shakeology

Thirsty Thursday and man oh man am I loving my shakeology these past few weeks!!

I feel very strongly that the ingredients in Shakeology help me stay well!! When my family is sick I usually double up on my shakeology most days to make sure I don't get sick!! I don't have the best sleep habits (stay up way to late, and wake up super early) so at least I can help my body stay on track nutrition wise!! 


Anyway, here is another new Shakeology recipe I tried over the last few weeks and it is another that I am loving.  I am actually taking the ingredients for this one to make as I am away this weekend for a college friends spa weekend getaway!! Gotta have my shakeology with me wherever I go - NO EXCUSES!!

Agua Fresca Strawberry Shakeology

Ahhh this week I have been reliving my moments on the S.S. Beachbody!! What a fantastic time I had!! One of the perks on the ship was we had the opportunity to do live workouts with some celebrity trainers like Shaun T, Tony Horton, and Autumn Calabrese.

Another perk was after every workout there was a Shakeology Bar!! Um Hello, my favorite drink...my favorite meal...and now someone else was making it for me? SOLD!! I overindulged in Shakeology that is FOR SURE!!

What was also nice about this shakeology bar was there were recipes that were used that quite honestly I would not have tried.  One in particular AGUA FRESCA!! See this recipe is make with cucumbers and at the time I didn't know what was in it but all I knew is I loved it!! When I found out the recipe had cucumbers I couldn't believe it - huh, who would have thought to include cucumbers!!
Well thankfully the Shakeology gurus did and now I have that same awesome recipe to share with you!!


AGUA FRESCA SHAKEOLOGY

1 scoop Strawberry Shakeology
¾ cup water (or club soda - personally I used water)
½ medium cucumber, peeled, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
Ice, if desired
Blend and Enjoy!!

For the best taste experience, use a blender and add ice. The more ice, the thicker it gets. Feel free to use any kind of milk or milk substitute (almond, rice, or coconut milk)—the more milk, the creamier it gets! and get ready for this, my shake is equal to 5 plates of salad for a whopping 146 Calories! 
Now I don't calorie count, personally it's not for me, but I can tell you without counting calories I have been able to stay at the same weight (which was below my goal) for a year and a half now.

Strawberry Mojito
