Meal Planning ReDo & Workout Update

Sunday when I put my weekly plan 
together seems forever ago yet it is only 3 days ago. Why does this week feel like it is dragging? I have a funny feeling it has something to do with me being in the Caribbean last week for my first ever vacation with only my husband since having children. AHHHH. Yes, I think my mind is still on vacation time!! 

Forgive me if this week I seem a bit on the slower side responding to messages or posting. I am working on them all just at a slower speed than I am use to!! 

Well as I said I did my meal planning on my Sunday like I always do BUT I did make a big boo boo on it. See I planned Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as my 21 Day Fix 3 day Quick Fix (don't know what the quick fix is?ASK!) and Friday includes a lot of meat. See I am Catholic and right now we are celebrating Lent and during lent we abstain from eating meat on Fridays. Again I don't know where my head was when I was putting together my meal plan this week but obviously it forgot about no Meat on Fridays.

I have however NOT eaten Chocolate which I gave up for Lent so at least I remembered that one!! 

Since I made a boo boo on my meal plan I had to revise it for Friday. Now I plan on doing the 21 day Fix 3 day Quick Fix Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I debated doing this Quick Fix or the Shakeology 3-Day Cleanse but since I have not done the Quick Fix yet I figured why not try it!! You know you never know the outcome until you try - RIGHT?!?!

I am back to P90x3 and I started Block 3 this week!! Excited to finish this program up in just a few more weeks!! I have loved every minute of it! Why? I find it challenging and although I don't always feel like I am working out (like holding yoga poses for 45 sec) I know that I am! Each week I have done this program I have seen progress which is always a good thing. My progress right now is different than others. My goal is to continue to maintain my goal weight which I have AND continue to define my muscles which this program has helped me do as well.

I did take a break mid P90x3 to do the new program called the 21 Day Fix which is only 21 days in length. I did this because I wanted to be knowledgeable about the program so I could help my customers and challenge group participants. I also LOVED the 21 Day Fix. The moves seem simple enough when you start and then OH MY do you feel them!! I also love the color coded portion control container system used as well. and also while I was away on vacation I got to meet the creator of the 21 day Fix - Autumn Calabrese!! I was so excited!! I didn't even care I was soaked with sweat from after completing her live workout aboard the S.S. Beachbody Cruise that I won!!

Well no time like the present to get myself back into my groove and finish this week off strong!  Yes I have the post vacation blues but at least I have a wonderful job that allows me to stay at home with my kids and provide for my family! I have a great family, great friends, and great customers. It is because of these special people in my life I do my best to make the most of every single day!! No more living life according to someone else's schedule - my life, my decisions!! I choose to live WELL - healthy, fit, and financially secure!!

What is a Challenge Group (a.k.a Health and Fitness Group)?

I get asked these questions all the time - 
What is a Challenge Group? What is a Health and Fitness Group? What is a Support and Accountability group? 
Guess what - they are all referring to the same type of group!! 
Simply different names being used!! 

The next question I get is how will a group help me get fit and healthy? 

Guess what? 
I had the same questions myself before I committed to joining my first Challenge Group!

The Basics...What is a Challenge Group?

Groups that are formed to help you reach your ultimate health and fitness goals.
They range anywhere from 10 days to 90 days.
Closed group on Facebook
5 or more people plus me, Your Coach, with 1:1 interaction
Support, motivation, Accountability
Beachbody Workout, Shakeology, and Clean Eating



What are the requirements to take part in a Challenge Group?

1. Shakeology - you will be drinking Shakeology once per day.  If you do not already have Shakeolgoy you must invest in it.  I need to know that if I am going to invest my time in you , you are willing to invest in your own health. 

2.  A Beachbody Fitness program of your choice. I am more than happy to help you pick the program that is right for you and the results you want to achieve. (Note: some challenge groups a fitness program is optional)

3.  You need to be an active member of the challenge group. I set up a private facebook group where only members of the challenge are invited to join.  What does an active member of the group mean?  It means you need to check into the group daily, workout on your own, post your daily ratings, and support your fellow challengers!  




Challenge Groups are more than just purchasing a Beachbody fitness program and drinking Shakeology every day.  It's more than just doing TurboFire, P90x, Insanity, Chalean Extreme, or Les Mills Combat.  It's more than a facebook group!

A challenge group becomes your support system, your fitness family, a place to feel secure and comfortable talking about your struggles, a place to get motivation when you want to quit, a place to improve your body and your mind, a place to learn about fueling your body for energy and not comfort, a place where you can get support from the comfort or your own home, 
the BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD because ultimately it helps you take care of YOU!!

Welcome to March Madness...BeachBody Style!!!!


Who said March Madness had to be all about Basketball?!?!  This year I am  putting my own spin on it and I want to help you get fit, fabulous, and Healthy!!  How am I going to do that?  Well I am glad you asked...


Get ready for March Madness BeachBody Style


You may be sitting there thinking what the heck is that?? Well this is where all the excuses you have had need to be thrown out the window because they are just that EXCUSES!!!!  I am going to give you options and at least one of these options will help you get your health and fitness journey started right.  Options I feel are the best way to go because not everyone loves the same workouts, meal plans, recipes, or motivational style.  So that's why options are really important.  What I do keep the same is MY commitment to YOU!!!!  That is, I will help you set realistic, measurable  timely health and fitness goals and we will work together to achieve them one day at a time.  We will work together for however long it takes, good, bad, and ugly!!!! No matter what I will be here for YOU!!!! 



All I need from you is your commitment to do this!!!!

So lets talk about these options...

Option 1 - Join my New Coach Apprenticeship Program which start March 4th.  
Have you ever considered becoming a Beachbody coach? Do you want to help others acheive their health and fitness goals?  Would you like to make a second income and enjoy an extra vacation or two this summer? If so then the Dream Team (our team) is where you need to be. This apprenticeship program will walk you through how to become a success - all you have to do is follow the steps.

Option 2 - Join my 90 Day Battle of the Bulge Challenge Group starting March 11th.  I will be doing this challenge right along with you! You get to choose which Beachbody workout program you would like and commit to drinking Shakeology once a day. Personally I will be doing the RevAbs Program.


  

Option 2 - Join my 30 Day Shakeology and Healthy Eating Challenge Group  also starting March 11th.  In this group we will focus more on nutrition than exercising.  You will only be required to commit to drinking Shakeology on a daily basis.  No workout program is required. This group is great for someone who isn't ready to commit to a fitness program but still wants to change their eating habits.  It's for someone who wants to learn more about clean eating and wants to give Shakeology a try.  I will provide you with weekly meal plans, recipes, motivation, and tips.  I will share how I plan my weeks, prepare my snacks, deal with traveling, social gatherings, and much more. 




Option 3 - Join my 12 week Spring Slim Down Challenge Group starting March 25th. This group you will be committing to a beachbody program of choice and drinking shakeology daily. 






One of these options has got to work for you and if it does not then I want you to write down all your reasons "WHY NOT"!  Next I want you to write down the opposite of all those "WHY NOTs" - now this is the list to look at, this is the reason why one of these options works for you!! 


Everyone has their problems, everyone is busy, we all have life to live!  Does your health and fitness matter to you? If not, then it should.  No matter what your answer - you need to make the time to take care of YOURSELF.  This is what my March Madness is all about - throw a workout routine, shakeology, clean eating, and a whole lot more into the mess of life we call it.  Create some more madness in your life - the difference is that this madness will help you feel better on the inside and look better on the outside. You will gain more energy, you will lose weight, you will build muscle tone, and you don't have to leave your house.  This is all done in the comforts of you home. NO one has to see you, No one even has to know this is what you are doing.  




So now that you have heard the options it's time for YOU to ask questions!  The best way for you to figure out what program is best for you is to CONTACT ME.  What I will do is ask you some questions to find out what your own personal health and fitness goals are.  I also want to know what workouts and weight loss programs have you done in the past.  What worked and didn't work? Why do you want to do this challenge group?  How much time do you have to devote to working out each day?  Lastly, what workouts do you like to do?  Do you like Zumba, Strength training, running, aerobics, etc.?  By us having this discussion I can really determine if this program will work for you! I am not afraid to be honest, because I truly want to help you.  

It is Okay if you ask all the questions and decide it's not your thing!! At least you explored your options.  Before you go joining a gym and paying out the wazoo for something you may use for 2 weeks and then be done with, give this a shot! It just might change your life...FOREVER!!!!


Last but not least, Here it is...I congratulate you...You are taking the first steps to say Welcome to the end of the old YOU!!!! No matter what has happened in the past put it behind you.  It's okay if you fell off the healthy band wagon. It's okay if you gained a few too many pounds.  It's absolutely Okay!!!! You are human and we all make mistakes! I know I have had my moments where I too fell off the wagon.  NOW it is time to step up my game and get back in high gear!!!!

Les Mills Combat Week 3

Okay Week 3 - in the beginning I wanted to kill you and now that the week is over I love you again!!

This week was tough for me.  I was tired, my house was a mess, and I really did not feel like getting out of bed at 5am.  It was so cold this week, my nice warm bed felt so much better than getting on my workout clothes and heading downstairs.  I could not imagine what my dedication would be like if I had to leave my house to workout.  I am guessing I would not be in the great shape I am now!!!!  Thankfully I found the strength inside me everyday to get myself out of bed and get my workout in and done.  I did miss Friday but I made up for it on Sunday.  

It still drives me crazy that I battle with myself in the morning.  Every time after I am done my workout I feel a thousand times better than when I don't workout in the morning.  I think clearer, I am nicer, I have more patience, I am more productive, I look better, and seriously I could just continue on and on with all the positives my day is filled with when I get my workout in and done first thing in the morning.  Anyone else have this constant struggle with themselves?  You have the Angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other - Good vs. Evil?  

My goal this week is to get out of bed every day on my first alarm (yes I set more than one alarm - ask my husband he will tell you all about it!) 

Okay, okay enough about my battle of getting up in the morning.  Lets talk about the Fight Les Mills Combats threw at me this week.  



Overall Les Mills Combat is still continuing to challenge me on a daily basis.  I am getting more comfortable with the kicks and punches.  It is all about repetition as Dan and Rach tell me on my DVDs.  I also feel my technique is getting better so that means I am getting better and stronger!!  

Here is what was on the schedule this week:
Monday - Combat 60 Extreme Cardio Fighter
Tuesday - Power Hiit 1 and Inner Warrior Stretch and Strengthen
Wednesday - Combat 60 Extreme Cardio Fighter
Thursday - Power Hiit 1 and Inner Warrior Stretch and Strengthen
Friday - Combat 30 Kick Start and Core Attack
Saturday - Combat 45 Power Kata
Sunday - Rest

Monday - Combat 60  Extreme Cardio Fighter
This was my first day of this program.  I was a bit intimidated by the length of this particular program.  Midway through I was starting to feel fatigued because the trainers really kick some butt in this workout.  The workout includes more interval training, new combinations and holy wow KICKS!!!!

and then when you thought it could not get any harder it ends with push ups and crunches. My body was screaming!!



Tuesday and Thursday - 
Power Hiit 1 and Inner Warrior Stretch and Strengthen
So you have seen my reviews before regarding Power Hiit 1 and Inner Warrior Stretch and Strengthen.  Power Hiit 1 continues to challenge me.  I still struggle to keep up with the crew on the burpee segments but I am getting better. I keep repeating to myself Enough is never Enough (as Dan and Rach say) and it really gets me moving and pushing harder.  I will be able to keep up by the end of my Combat journey - guaranteed!!!!

Another guarantee - Burpee Jump Squat I will own you when I am finished!!!!

Wednesday - Combat 60 Extreme Cardio Fighter
This day I found Combat 60 Extreme Cardio fighter even more challenging. Oh my, it kicked my ass!! I was feeling fatigued even before I was half way through this time.  We are talking nonstop punches and kicks! I was kicking all over the place so after this one I really need to watch the kicking tutorial again because I was feeling so fatigued I am sure my form was not at its best. With that being said even though I was feeling fatigued you see the trainers moving along and they look fantastic. I want to look fantastic too darn it - so I pushed a little more and finished with the Oh my Goodness PUSH UPS and CRUNCHES at the end again.  Somehow I forgot about these from Mondays session of Combat 60.   



Friday - Combat 30 Kick Start and Core Attack  (swapped today with Sunday)
Friday I did not do any workout, I used it as my rest day.  Instead I swapped Friday's workout with my originally planned rest day of Sunday.  

Combat 30 is by far one of my favorite programs. It is short, sweet, and just the perfect intensity.  There should be no one that cannot squeeze in at least 30 minutes and this workout is the perfect one to squeeze in.  You get an incredible mix of arms, legs, and abs.   

Core attack is also another favorite program because I have really been trying to focus on my own personal technique to really work my abs.  Well this program does just that for me.  It makes me focus on my technique to really feel the abs working.  It then ends with back work which just feels so wonderful and who knew it is great for strengthening your abs!!!!


Saturday - Combat 45 Power Kata
Power Kata was not my favorite the first time around.  This time however I really enjoyed the workout and that just proves you really need to give certain programs a few tries before you can say yes or no.  It all depends on your mood that day, how your body is feeling, etc.  It really is a challenging workout and one of the trainers says during the program, "Stronger on the Outside, stronger on the inside." This is so true!! By gaining strength in my body I really have been able to become that much of a stronger person. I am letting go of the past and moving on quicker and easier.  

So another week in the bag and ready for another week to begin - Week 4 Here I Come!! 

Tomorrow, Monday I am starting of with another dose of Combat 60 Extreme Cardio Fighter!  My goal is to kill it!!!! 

I have my plan in place for the week, I know what I have to do each day, I know what workout needs to be done, and I know what I am eating.  Exercise is important to the healthy life routine but what you eat is even more important.  Do you know what you are eating this week? If I don't have my meal plan done and ready to go for each week I am more likely to make unhealthy decisions.  I make life easier by preparing for the week ahead. I make my meal plan on Sundays, go grocery shopping either Sunday or Monday and then it is all about prepping the food so it is easy to grab and go.  I stay at home with my kids but it is still a challenge to sometimes put meals together even when I am home.  This way if I prep ahead of time it is that much easier, plus it is also convenient for my husband to just grab and go while he is running out the door in the morning.   Here is my meal plan for the week - care to share yours?
