Took the Week OFF

It's Monday and well you haven't heard from me in a WEEK!

Another one of the wonderful advantages of being my own boss is I get to say when I work, how long I work, and what I work on.
I blog because I enjoy it and it helps me share my love of health and fitness. My hope is that there are many out there that find my blog interesting enough to check it out from time to time and I hope that it helps  you in your own health and fitness journey.  I apologize for my absence but honestly here is what the deal was - I needed time to refocus my energy on the good in my life and push out the negative.  I have slowly let negativity start to invade my thoughts and that in turn totally threw me off track. I have been let down and hurt by close friends and family lately and well I was throwing myself my own pity party. Hello I am human too and I have feelings that get hurt. I get down in the dumps. I get off track with my healthy eating. I get off track with my workouts. I let the negativity in and this time it won. 

BUT I am here to shout it out publicly I am done having my pity party and I am done letting others words and actions kill my MOJO.

What did it take?  

A trip to my happy place to remind me of my dreams 
that I will make my reality!!

This past weekend away I was reminded how fortunate I am to have the life that I live. I have a great family who loves me for all that I am good and bad, I have one fabulous sister who has always been there for me and I am thankful I had her to look up to my whole life,  I am able to stay home with my kids - raise them and spend my days with them, I am able to run a pretty tight ship household, I am building my own business that I work at my convenience and it is doing something I love - helping others, and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to spend the summers at the beach. Now this list isn't all inclusive - I have so much to be thankful for but tonight this is what's on my mind.

Tonight I challenge you too, to let go of the negativity in your life and embrace all that you have been given. We don't always see what we have as our greatest gift, but in fact is - we were given today to make it great. Tomorrow we will be given another opportunity to do the same. I know it is not always easy and I am not going to try and tell you it will be. What I do know is we can make it better than it was before. 

Will you join me in making it great?  

Let's hold each other accountable and begin anew...

21 Day Fix Meal Planning and More

If you have been following my blog you know I like to plan out my week on Sundays!! So today is none other than Sunday and so that means time to get  myself on track for the week ahead.

My BIRTHDAY!! I will be 37 years old tomorrow the 17th.  My goodness where has time gone! I normally do not look forward to my birthday because it means I am another year older but this year I am looking at my birthday in a whole new light.  It is another day to thank God for giving me this wonderful life. So much has happened in this past year I seriously cannot believe it. A lot didn't happen either and so this year is another year I am thankful to be given another chance to to get it done the right way this time.

So another Sunday, another year older but I am definitely feeling the wiser part this time!! I have learned so much this past year about myself and am truly grateful that I have given my health a spot on my priority list! Some might think that sounds crazy but for so long I didn't treat my health as a priority. I wasn't taking care of myself and that then lead to me not taking the best care of my loved ones who count on me.

I know I know I am suppose to be sharing my 21 Day Fix meal plan but I think it is important to understand where I am coming from and why I choose to do the 21 day Fix program.  I am at my goal weight, I am happy with the shape of my body, I feel great, I have a ton of energy, I am at home with my kids yet working a business that provides adequate income, but I am always looking for ways to challenge myself and ways to expand my knowledge.  This is where the 21 Day Fix comes in...
Yes I workout, Yes I eat healthy but there are always way to improve. What attracted me to the FIX is the color coded portion control containers. Did you know you could eat too  much healthy food too? Well this past week I have learned that I was over eating in many of the food groups. Lesson learned thanks to the handy dandy Fix containers -

Yep those are the containers I use to portion out each of my meals.  
What I also do is create a meal plan that incorporate a set number of these containers throughout the day 3 Green, 2 Purple, 4 Red, 2 Yellow, 1 Blue, 1 Orange, and 2 teaspoons.

I then create my grocery list around what I don't have on my plan, go shopping and start prepping what I can to make life easier throughout the week!! 
Simple enough and it makes the world of difference between staying on track or not!! So there you have it, my meal plan completed and I am all set for another fabulous week!! Have a great Sunday!!

Prepping for the Week Ahead

Sundays are my day to get myself together and be prepared as best I can for the upcoming week. 

Some Sundays I can get this all done first thing in the morning but today like most Sundays I do a little bit here and there and pull it all together Sunday evening.  No matter what though, I will not go to bed on a Sunday night until I have it all done.  The reason why is because I have found when I have a plan in place I stick to it and am so much more productive!! When I leave  it go (and yes I have done this a time or two in the past) my week does not run as smoothly as I would like.  So, I take the time to get it done!! One of my weekly non-negotiables!! 


If you want to be successful you have to take the steps to get there!!


What exactly is it that I do to prepare? 
I get asked this question often so this time I am spelling it out for you and honestly it takes very little time to do this all.  

1. Make sure I know what is going on this week and know where my family and I are suppose to be and when. I do this by comparing our calendars and making sure all is written down or make a note to follow-up.
2. I check out what I have in my fridge (don't want to let any food go to waste!) and what is on sale this week at the grocery stores SO I can do my next task and that is to meal plan!
I fought meal planning for a while but when I finally started doing it I could have kicked myself for not starting sooner - WHY? because I dropped close to 9 pounds in no time! It was yet another reminder of the importance of food and weight loss.
3. MEAL PLAN - I put it all down on paper what we are going to eat this week. If I need to, I look for new recipes based on what we are in the mood for. Um hello Pinterest, I love you!! along with some of my other clean eating websites, and my Les Mills Pump Nutrition guide (in my 12th week of Pump -eeek, only 1 more left!).
4. Monday is Produce Market, Tuesday is Grocery Store and Costco. After each trip I prep as much food as I can for the remainder of the week's meals. Slice and dice veggies, fruits, thaw meats (if needed), cook what I can ahead of time, etc.

My Coach Spotlight Success Story - When I became an EMERALD

This is a blog post that my coach Melanie did about me about a year ago...

I have decided that I want to feature my totally awesome and hard working coaches when they hit big milestones in their businesses!! Alyson achieved Emerald rank this week in her business and is well on her way to growing a strong business where she can help other people transform their lives, take control and achieve their health and fitness goals. I'm so glad to have her as part of my team!!

This is her story!!

Who am I…
My name is Alyson Horcher. 
I am a mother of two wonderful children - Leo and Addyson and a wife to a guywho accepts me for the way I am and loves me unconditionally.
A little about me…
After marrying my husband in 2004 we decided to move from Pennsylvania to warmer weather and begin our new life together in Southern California. After a few years living the "dream" we decided to move back to Pennsylvania in 2010. At this time we also found out I was pregnant with baby#2. When we moved back I quit my successful, well paying job and became a stay at home mom.
Where did I go…
When I started my new career as a Stay at Home Mom, I found it to be the hardest job I had ever done. When I was working outside of the home I would get a mental and physical break. Those days were over and I found it even more challenging to get a break…any break! When I started staying home I also started to let myself go. I use to wake up at 5am religiously everyday and exercise. Weekends were my breaks however I would still get up early to start my day. When I became a stay at home mom, I started sleeping in to the point I could barely get myself out of bed and exercising was a thing of the past.  
I also use to eat pretty healthy and those days too were gone!




Previously I would exercise because 
it made me feel good. I was never
really concerned about weight control.  I never had a problem with weight.

As life continues and I get older and 
so does my family I want to make 
smarter decisions in life. Those decisions I feel begin with having a
healthy lifestyle which includes exercise and eating healthy. Everything I do my
children see and hear. I am most concerned about being a positive role model for my children. My family is my everything!

Time for the change to begin...
Happy New Year 2012! I was on facebook one day and I had been noticing all these very positive posts from one of my sorority sisters, (whom by the way I never met in person but through our "family tree" we became facebook friends) Melanie Mitro. She had a couple of posts about joining her upcoming challenge group. I had no idea what a challenge group was and I did not know Melanie that well either. One of her posts she mentioned about if you are interested "like" her post. I "liked" her post because well I really did like what she had to say. I did not even think about actually joining a challenge group until she contacted me. We set up a time to talk and from that moment on my life started to change.

I was feeling sorry for myself, I was unhappy with life, grumpy, and lethargic. I lost 
myself and did not know how to get myself back. I agreed to take part in Melanie's challenge. I choose my workout program and decided to start drinking Shakeology once a day. 

Time to Press Play...


I took part in my first ever challenge group in February 2012. This group changed my life! My coach and the other women in the group were such key components to my success. I started a routine of getting up early again to workout, started eating cleaner, drinking Shakeology, and the results were awesome! The 90 day challenge started Feb. 27, 2012. It was called the "Spring Slim Down Challenge" It should have been called, "We Will Change Your Life Forever Challenge!" I knew in my heart I needed to make changes in my life and this is where it all began!

I am happy to say I am now a Chalean Extreme graduate! I am almost a Power 90 
Graduate too. Next on the list is Brazil Butt Lift! I lost weight and inches, and I found myself again! I am happier, have a ton more energy (definitely needed with two young kids), more productive, and the list goes on and on. My husband and children are happier with the new me and for once I am happy with me!

The Story Continues...
Our lives have changed because I started with the beachbody program. Sure we still have lots of areas to improve, we always will. I will continue to make changes and I hope to help other people change their lives as I have changed mine! On August 7, 2012, I made this promise to myself by becoming a Team Beachbody coach. What pushed me to finally say “Yes, I want to be a beachbody coach” is that if I can make these changes in my life and improve my overall health and happiness why can’t I try and help someone else do the same? I really needed the accountability of my coach to stay on track, I still do.
I as a coach will be able to provide the same type of accountability to someone else and help them push forward. 

Paying it Forward is now what I want to do in addition to being a positive role model for 
my family. I love how my life has changed and I can see a drastic improvement how my family is eating now too!

I want to share my story with others and help change at least lives!

If I can help just one person see the difference I have seen then this to me equals  
SUCCESS!! 



Life as a beachbody coach…

Well being an active beachbody coach is a bit different than what I envisioned. I envisioned helping other people reach their goals yes, but the feeling you get when you DO help people reach their fitness and health goals is something I never felt before! Life as a coach is so much more to me now. I want to continue to help others, I want to build a successful business, I want to help others build their own successful businesses, and I want to continue to improve on my live as well as my family’s life!



I will be a Super Star Diamond Coach! I am on my way and I will not stop until I get 
there. Why? The more people I can help and the more coaches I bring into this beautiful beachbody world means together we can as a team will help that many more people reach their health and fitness goals. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that? I will be successful because I have faith in God’s plan for me. I am able to stay at home with my two children, raise them, take care of our family and our home AND I can still contribute to our finances!

Oh and this is all done from the comfort of my home! My time with my family is not 
jeopardized anymore by me having to go away on business trips or go into the office.

I was in the pharmaceutical industry for 10+ years and by far this is much more rewarding and FLEXIBLE!! I am so very thankful Beach Body came into my life when it did…Thank You BeachBody!!!!
