Prepping for the Week Ahead

Sundays are my day to get myself together and be prepared as best I can for the upcoming week.

Some Sundays I can get this all done first thing in the morning but today like most Sundays I do a little bit here and there and pull it all together Sunday evening.  No matter what though, I will not go to bed on a Sunday night until I have it all done.  The reason why is because I have found when I have a plan in place I stick to it and am so much more productive!! When I leave  it go (and yes I have done this a time or two in the past) my week does not run as smoothly as I would like.  So, I take the time to get it done!! One of my weekly non-negotiables!!

If you want to be successful you have to take the steps to get there!!

What exactly is it that I do to prepare?
I get asked this question often so this time I am spelling it out for you and honestly it takes very little time to do this all.

1. Make sure I know what is going on this week and know where my family and I are suppose to be and when. I do this by comparing our calendars and making sure all is written down or make a note to follow-up.
2. I check out what I have in my fridge (don't want to let any food go to waste!) and what is on sale this week at the grocery stores SO I can do my next task and that is to meal plan!
I fought meal planning for a while but when I finally started doing it I could have kicked myself for not starting sooner - WHY? because I dropped close to 9 pounds in no time! It was yet another reminder of the importance of food and weight loss.
3. MEAL PLAN - I put it all down on paper what we are going to eat this week. If I need to, I look for new recipes based on what we are in the mood for. Um hello Pinterest, I love you!! along with some of my other clean eating websites, and my Les Mills Pump Nutrition guide (in my 12th week of Pump -eeek, only 1 more left!).
4. Monday is Produce Market, Tuesday is Grocery Store and Costco. After each trip I prep as much food as I can for the remainder of the week's meals. Slice and dice veggies, fruits, thaw meats (if needed), cook what I can ahead of time, etc.

and here is the finished product, my meal plan for the week...

Do you have a day each week you use to get yourself together and ready?

If not and you are you interested in healthier eating options or want to do an overhaul on your diet.  Let me know!  Together we can determine what is the best action plan for you.  See I am a Beachbody Coach and I help people reach their health and fitness goals - WHY? because I needed help at one point too and now it is my turn to return the favor!! Weekly Planning done again!!

It's that time of week again and I am preparing for the week ahead!!
Meal Planning time in the Horcher.

Recycling some old recipes but also trying two new ones - the whole wheat Zucchini bread (still trying to find one that I love!) and trying a friends marinade on the grilled Pork chops.

This week I will mostly be getting fruits and veggies at the grocery store.  I will be heading to Costco to stock up on Greek Yogurt (if I need a snack in the evening this is my go to), almond milk, eggs, kids yogurt, oatmeal, chicken, flat buns, vanilla, cinnamon and I think that is it!! Everything else I will get at my local produce store or grocery store if they are having any good deals.

As you know I also include in my meal plan my workout routine.  I am redoing Week 7 of Les Mills Pump. I was feeling off all week and just didn't feel like I gave my workouts my all.  Thankfully because I am at home working out with my own DVDs I can make this choice.

Plus on the days of the longer workouts I felt like I was rushing because I knew my kids would be up soon.  So I am also going to try waking up at least 15 minutes earlier this week - eeekkk, wish me luck!! and of course NO SNOOZING!! I have been getting worse and worse with this again.  I remember the days in college and I was never a SNOOZE button person.  Oh my how times have changed!! Another goal this week is to get to bed earlier.  I know first hand that part of living a healthy lifestyle is getting adequate sleep.  I for one know I do  not get enough sleep and so I need to start taking care of that part of my life.
What do you do in order to get up out of bed in the morning? Do you get enough sleep? Do you hit snooze? Do you have a morning routine that you follow?
Mine is wake up at 5am (well this week I am shooting for 445am), workout, have my Shakeology shake as I am walking upstairs to get my shower at 6am. Get ready from 6-630am. 630-7 check in with my challenge groups. 7am kids get up and we start our day together!! From there it varies...I do try and schedule my day with important tasks and always create a to do list.

I love schedules though!! I was looking on pinterest this week and I found a chore chart. Now I will have to make some modification with a few other things that need to be done as well but I think this is a great starting  point.  I like having lists and checking things off as I do them.  It keeps me on track.

I have been meaning to create a chart like this but hey, if you can find one already  made why not use that right?!?! So we will see how this goes!!

This leads me into why meal planning works so well for me.  I struggled with meal planning in the beginning because I didn't know where to start. What foods were considered clean and healthy? How much should I have to eat at each meal? etc. Have you ever felt like this? You want to eat healthier but just aren't sure exactly how to do it?  For me it was all about creating a schedule to follow (ha told you I was a schedule person).  First it started with what times of day would I typically be eating.  This is where I varied greatly.  Then it was learning about what foods are considered healthy and clean.  What foods to pair together to get the maximum fuel for my body? ahh, and then portions!! I don't know about you but I never watched my portions.  I always eyeballed everything until one day I found my eyeballing was WAY OFF!!

Other ways Meal planning has helped not only me and my family eat better but we also don't waste nearly as much food as we did before so that also means we waste less money!! Chaching!!

If you are interested in learning how to meal plan please feel free to contact me at alysonhorcher@gmail.com. I would love to walk you through what I do each week and see how meal planning can help your life too!!

BOO-tiful Offer Just For YOU

I know that this time of year is especially hard to commit to spending money on yourself. Especially with Christmas around the corner. Money is always tight but this is also the time when most people feel the stress of their pants tightening and their energy plummeting due to the change in weather. The worst thing that you can do for yourself is throw your hands up in the air and give in to the temptations all around you.

So to make the decision a little easier on your wallet I chose to run this
Boo-tiful offer for followers of either my blog (this blog) and/or my facebook page.  The special offer goes like this - anyone who purchases a challenge pack as my customer and upgrades to a Preferred Member or Coach Member will receive $30 cash back
Or
if you are not interested in the future 25% savings as one of these members then with your challenge pack purchase you will receive $10 cash back.

Don't wait, this special offer ENDs at 11pm EST October 31, 2013!!

So what is a challenge pack?
It must be important right if I am willing to offer cash back to you!! Well challenge packs are pretty darn important if you ask me. They are the bundle that gets you started on your journey and helps you  keep going.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with what a challenge pack is, let me explain! A challenge pack is a a fitness program of your choice (P90X,Insanity, Turbofire, T25, and others) and Shakeology (the healthiest meal of the day), a workout calendar, a nutrition guide, 30 day teambeachbody.com club membership, plus free shipping, me as your beachbody coach and a discounted price! It is the total package.

What is also super sweet about the month of October is that P90x and P90x2 are both on sale this month!! You can get two top workout programs at a discounted price and receive cash back in your wallet to use for something else.

So if you are in need of a complete overhaul with your health and fitness or you are missing one of the two key components (exercise or nutrition) then this is the way to go. As with other weight loss or nutrition programs out there you usually get half of the equation. So you get the fitness with a gym membership, but lack the nutrition or with weight watchers you get some form of nutrition but no fitness component.

With Beachbody you get the expertise of the trainers who have developed the fitness programs, the nutrition guide and the online tools to help you plan out your meals and snacks plus the accountability of the small group and me as your coach!! I will check in with you daily to help you create and reach your own personal goals.
Why Should I upgrade to a Preferred Member or Coach Member?
What is the benefit?
As a Preferred Member or Coach Member you get 25% off of everything you purchase. That means, Shakeology, each and every fitness program plus all of the nutritionals and supplements.  If you are someone who drinks Shakeology every day or even twice a day it makes sense to purchase it at the discounted price. If you drink shakeology for 6 months you end up saving roughly around $195.00. That is crazy!!! Anyone who knows me, knows I am always about saving money and this is a great way to get your healthiest meal of the day for less than what you are probably paying now!!

So, what are you waiting for?! Do you want to change your life? Do you want to get in the best shape of your life and have a community of support to help you get there? Then don't delay, Contact ME and we will get the process started for you.

Don't forget about my Boo-tiful offer - For followers of either my blog (this blog) and/or my facebook page you can receive $30 cash back when you purchase a challenge pack as my customer and upgrades to a Preferred Member or Coach Member.
Or
if you are not interested in the future 25% savings as one of these members then with your challenge pack purchase you will receive $10 cash back.

Don't wait, this special offer ENDs at 11pm October 31, 2013!!
